TTEK Expertise Strengthens Risk Management Capabilities for Customs in Madagascar
Barbados, Oct 1, 2021 - TTEK Inc., a leader in advanced technology for the optimization of customs and border processing, has been engaged by Malagasy Customs to provide experts and training on Customs Risk Management in Madagascar.
Through a partnership with Corridor Development Consultants (CDC), the engagement is focused on helping Malagasy Customs to review and revamp their legacy risk management capabilities through two key components:

1. Training of Customs Officers on Customs Risk Analysis: TTEK experts have been assessing the current management of tariff risks, identifying gaps based on WCO recommendations, and developing and delivering required training. The goals and objectives are focused on increasing the knowledge base and understanding of Malagasy Customs on leading practices and international standards in Customs risk management, risk assessment, key international factors in Customs risk management, risk indicators, statistical and econometric modeling, and the role of Customs in a modern trade and supply chain.
2. Design of a Data Warehouse for an Automatic and Dynamic Risk Management System: TTEK is also compiling an exhaustive inventory of data sources to help Malagasy Customs identify fraud and noncompliance, which will contribute towards the development of a modern risk assessment solution. TTEK experts have been assisting Malagasy Customs with the implementation of automatic and dynamic selectivity based on econometric models of risk analysis that would eventually integrate with ASYCUDA.
